STAND IN THE GAP
Ezekiel 22:30 "And I sought for a man among them..."
When God made man (Adam), He brought him to a certain level of connection with Him, giving him Dominion here on earth. However, the sin and eventual fall of man rid us of this and created a chasm, a gap between God and man. Hereafter the Bible is filled with intances of God raising men that can bridge this gap on the behalf of his people, be it a family or a nation. Per time, from the people, He chose an individual to be a Representative, to plead the case of the people before Him.
"...that should make up the hedge..."
Jesus Christ came down to earth not just on a Redemptive mission, but on a Modelling one as well. Prior to Him, every other person was always a TEMPORARY solution; if that man did not raise another to carry on, that cycle would close until God raised another. This is an indicator of God's love for man; He continually raises men for their sake. God needed a PERMANENT solution, one that would last till His coming. Most importantly, He wanted us back where belonged; a place of Dominion, a place where we could discharge our duties both as Kings and as Priests. But we needed a model, something, or someone to imitate. Hence, Jesus Christ. His death and resurrection paid the price for making up the hedge. In His time, He stood in the gap for us, by reason of His Divinity and sinless life as a man.
"...and stand in the gap before me for the land..."
Now the death of Jesus Christ has paid the ultimate price, and with His ascension He gave us the Holy Ghost. Thd Holy Ghost inside us takes us to the level that God intended for us from the start, the same level thatAdam functioned in prior to his fall, and the same realm realm Jesus functioned in. The Blood of Jesus shed on the cross is what paid the price or our cleansing, enabling us to appear God. God did not create angels to stand in the gap for us or to interced for us; they have their own ministry. His Word clearly states that he sought for a man from AMONG US. This means that from among every nation, family, unit etc. God has fashioned that there should be at least one person to be a REPRESENTATIVE before Him, to Legislate His Law and Will here on Earth as well as to plead the case of the people before Him (Commanding Prayer vs Prayer of Supplication--Isaiah 45:11)
Do you feel you have no future and will never amount to nothing? Has anyone told you that you don't qualify for much in this life? I've got GREAT news for you; God is looking for a REPRESENTATIVE.
Rise up.
Stand in the gap.
Pray.
